Online Lottery in ND — The Status

Unlike Michigan, Pennsylvania, Illinois and a handful of other states, the ND Lottery does not sell tickets online or via mobile app. All tickets must be purchased in person at one of approximately 400 licensed retailers across the state — convenience stores, supermarkets and bars. The ND Lottery website lets you check winning numbers and locate retailers, but does not facilitate purchases.

Authorization to sell lottery online would require legislative action. As of 2026 there are no active bills to expand the ND Lottery into iLottery sales.

Lottery Couriers

National lottery courier services such as Jackpocket and Mido Lotto operate in some states by physically purchasing tickets on a customer's behalf. North Dakota is not currently listed as an active courier state.

Where to Buy

Use the official ND Lottery retailer locator to find a nearby authorized seller. Tickets are sold at gas stations, supermarkets, convenience stores and bars across all 53 ND counties.

Where Proceeds Go

ND Lottery net proceeds fund the state General Fund, the Compulsive Gambling Prevention and Treatment Fund, drug task force grants, and other state programs. Since launch in 2004, the lottery has returned hundreds of millions to ND state programs.
